It’s been a little over 4 months since my SmartLipo procedure and I am absolutely thrilled with the results!! I came to see Dr. Maffei after losing 30lbs and explained to him that no matter how much weight I lost or how many crunches I did – I just couldn’t get rid of my love handles and excess fat on my abdomen. After our consultation, I immediately felt comfortable and confident choosing him as my surgeon – and after reading all the reviews and all the positive patient experiences I couldn’t wait to schedule my appointment.
The procedure was quick and painless! Dr. Maffei and his nurse actually chatted with me from start to finish – making jokes and putting me at ease. I experienced mild discomfort and some soreness afterwards, but was back on my feet the next day, and back at work 4 days later.
When I came in for my checkup I was amazed with the results – we compared the pre-op and post-op pictures and I couldn’t believe how great my abdomen looked just 2 weeks later. Dr. Maffei was able to etch out my obliques and my love handles were gone – he even addressed the back fat I had by my flanks. The incisions have fully healed and just look like small dimples– no one has been able to notice them. My skin feels tighter, I can actually see my abs for the first time in a long time, and I’ve gone down 2 sizes in jeans.
I would recommend this procedure, but more importantly, would highly recommend Dr. Maffei to any patient out there who is struggling with ‘problem areas’. He is thorough, kind, talented and especially passionate about his work. He is wonderfully caring and truly enjoys helping his patients achieve their cosmetic goals. When I originally visited Dr. Maffei I was scheduled to have smart lipo surgery with another surgeon’s office. After my first visit with Dr. Maffei and his nurse I decided to cancel my surgery with the other surgeon and schedule my surgery with Dr. Maffei. I did lipo in 2 surgeries a week apart in my full abdominal, pubic area, inner thighs, knees, lower back and arms. Dr. Maffei was thorough in my consultation, answered all my questions, he set realistic expectations and prepared me for what to expect before and after surgery. Once I committed to surgery the office took my measurements to ensure I had a garment that was specific to me. The day of the procedure everything went as Dr. Maffei described. After surgery I was given a care package with items to help me with recovery. The evening after surgery I received a call from Dr. Maffei to ensure I was feeling okay. I had a question the Saturday after surgery and Dr. Maffei returned my call; the best care I’ve experienced. I am now 2 months out from my surgery and am very happy with my results. The procedure helped me lose stubborn fat and tightened my skin giving my body a slimmer, firmer and youthful appearance. I am so glad I trusted Dr. Maffei to do my surgery. Wanted to provide a quick patient testimony as I highly recommend Dr. Maffei if you are thinking of smartlipo/ab-sculpting . Going into the process I was nervous however Dr. Maffei and Robin made the process easy and painless. They were both available pre and post op to answer any questions or concerns that I had. They even called the night before to ensure I was ready to go! I also was somewhat skeptical of the results but the great part was you literally see the results real time. As someone who spent thousands on cool-sculpting , which only made the areas worse, I wish I went straight to ab sculpting. Only regret was not doing this sooner!

I’ve been interested in this procedure for several years but was a bit apprehensive because of 2 main issues.
1. to the amount of time I would miss form work
2. the quality of the Surgeon.
I was referred to Dr. Maffei by a friend who had used him.
I attended a free consultation in his office in which explained the entire procedure & I immediately knew I was in good hands.
I scheduled my procedure shortly thereafter bc I wanted all the work to completed before a planned vacation in December.
I had smart lip done on my stomach – love handles & chest.
The results far exceeded my expectations.
I had the procedure on Thursday Sept 10th & worked from home the very next day. I returned to

The only pain I felt was a pinch when I received the 1st shot of the lidocaine – other than that it was completely painless.

Vaser Assisted Ultrasound Lipo…
I can’t thank Dr. Maffei enough for his professionalism and honesty about my procedure. Being 49 years old and having two kids was an issue for me especially that I knew I didn’t want a tummy tuck. I went into this not having any knowledge on what Vaser assisted lipo was. I based everything on Dr. Maffei’s photos. I was so impressed that I wanted my own consultation.
I was so pleased with everything including his staff that made me feel literally like I was family; that I booked my surgery that day.
It has been 5 weeks after surgery and I couldn’t be happier with my results. My pictures are real results and with very little down time as well!

It’s been almost 5 months since I had my Smart Lipo procedure and I am THRILLED with the results!!! I had a large pocket of skin that hung over my C-Section, and subsequently I have always watched what I ate, but nothing mattered when it came to this area on my body. Having 2 pregnancies and 2 C-sections, my body just wasn’t the same.

My experience with the smart lipo procedure was overall a positive one. I had my stomach area done. After having two children back to back I was unable to achieve with my usual workout routine a flatter stomach as I had pre-baby.
I really loved how quickly the procedure was done as well as the after care. After one day I was walking around carrying my toddlers with little to no pain. I wore the undergarment under my clothes and it was comfortable and it didn’t bother my daily routine at all.
After two weeks I was back to the gym and enjoying the results already! I noticed that my clothes were fitting much better and I felt real happy with the choice I made to have this procedure done.
Dr. Maffei is a great doctor who was truly loves what he does. He speaks of his work as pieces of art and really is talented all around. His staff also is very pleasant and makes you feel very at ease with any nerves you may have.

Dr. Maffei performed Smartlipo to my chest and abs. My results turned out far better than I ever expected. I didn’t experience any pain, just a little discomfort at times. The recovery was quick, only missing one day of work. My chest and abs felt sore as if I did a strenuous workout at the gym. The results have motivated me to get back into the gym and start working out just 3 weeks after the procedure.

In 2012 I had the gastric sleeve procedure performed by Dr.Maffei. I started at 300lbs and with a new diet and a new way of life I got down to 160lbs, I leveled out at 175lbs and feel great being 5’6. Long story short I have some areas of my body that are not ideal and make me feel very self-conscious. For many years I have avoided a lot of social situations due to being so uncomfortable with my arms (they were always on the heavy side growing up and after losing a bunch of weight sagged) In the warm/hot weather I would be the one wearing a hoodie pretending I’m just cold all the time. I was never able to buy anything short sleeved or sleeveless an 3/4 length was pushing it! I was constantly covered up and always waiting for Winter to come so I could wear a sweater. When I meet with Dr Maffei in March, 2016 I asked if something could be done with my arms I had a brachioplasty in mind and was mentally ready to take on the huge scar that came along with that procedure. Dr Maffei let me know about Smart Lipo, he gave me all the information and took the time in his office to show me before and after pictures and really explain the procedure to me. By the time I left the office I had my mind made up, I would be getting Smart Lipo done on my arms. 5 days ago I had the procedure done. Everyone in the office is great, they make you feel SO comfortable and help you relax (I’m the biggest BABY) when it comes to procedures and I made it! The procedure took about two hours and I felt close to nothing, we chatted the entire time and time really flew. The drains in each arm were a bit uncomfortable and I was overjoyed to see them go today. I already feel amazing and am getting better by the minute, it’s strange but you can almost feel it working.
